1. Mobile Internet use just passed desktop use last week. This means, the concept of  ‘mobile first’ is no longer a suggested idea with air quotes but a concrete necessity for any business. Link

2. Since 2011 users are now consuming 9 hours less TV but are on the Internet a heck of a lot more. (If we all had TVs in our bathrooms, I feel like that wouldn’t have happened. Just saying.)

3. Vertical and horizontal video capturing and playback is now interchangeable so you no longer have to worry about recording videos the wrong way again, Mom.

THE POWER OF NOSTALGIA AND CAFFEINE

At this point most people don’t care or know what Gilmore Girls is. But Wednesday marked nine years since the show was on-air, which equals about 100 years in TV land. Big things are happening as the interwebs celebrate this Gilmoreversary. Just check out the trending #gilmoregirlsrevival.

As the die-hard fans know, on November 25th Gilmore Girls is back as a mini series event on Netflix with four all-new 90-minute episodes named ‘A Year in the Life’. The episodes conveniently titled after the seasons. BRANDATHON 2016 RECAP

It may seem like every day is a brandathon for those working in advertising and marketing, but last Thursday night was The Ad Club’s third annual event.

If you're unfamiliar with how this event works, Brandathon brings together some of the best advertising agencies and top tier startup companies in Boston. The Ad Club narrows down over 200 startup submissions to an impressive 12 and then randomly partners them with local creative teams. After a 2 hour meet and greet the creative teams are given just 72 hours to develop a new brand identity and 360 campaign including video content, website design, social and experiential activations.

THE REALITY OF VIRTUAL REALITY

Fun fact: Boston Virtual Reality (VR) is the third largest non-profit meet up group in the country with over 3,000 members. After no hesitation, I got my geek on and attended their most recent demo event last night – hosted by Breakaway’s newest client iZotope Inc. Delicious pizza aside, I found the group of 150+ attendees to be extremely friendly, knowledgeable and above all, excited about the technology being showcased. I was not only impressed with the cast of characters and expert professionals, but also the diversity of the presenters  Serious Simulations, a Florida based training facility for some serious heavy hitters like lethal forces professionals and emergency service personnel kicked off the night.
